Black Eagle Racing [News] 15th February 2015
Lee Johnston and Dean Harrison in MV Agusta dream team at Classic TT
Lee Johnston will remain with Black Eagle Racing for this year’s Classic TT, when the Fermanagh man will ride MV Agusta machinery in the 350cc and 500cc races.
Johnston will be joined in the team by Bradford’s Dean Harrison, who missed the event last year after being ruled out through injury following a crash at the Ulster Grand Prix.
Hull-based Johnston won the 350cc race in 2014, setting a fastest lap of 105.239mph, and will again line up on the same three-cylinder machine before switching to the team’s magnificent 500 MV.
“Winning the 350cc race last year was a real highlight for me and I was delighted for the guys in the Black Eagle team who put so much time, money and effort into making it all happen,” said Johnston.
“Getting to ride the 500cc bike as well is something I am really excited about and hopefully we can go back to the Isle of Man in August and pick up some more silverware.”
Johnston has switched to BMW machinery this season for the international road races with backing from East Coast Construction.
English prospect Harrison – who will spearhead Yamaha UK’s official road racing effort in the Mar-Train Racing colours – will also compete in the 350cc and 500cc classes for Black Eagle Racing.
“I was gutted to miss out on last year’s Classic TT so I am delighted to have been offered the chance to ride these amazing MV Agustas again in 2015,” said Harrison, who won the Lightweight TT last June.
“They are incredible pieces of engineering and it still seems strange that David and Mark [Kay] are willing to give them to guys like Lee and I to thrash around the Isle of Man!”
