COCK O' THE NORTH MEETING IS DEFINITELY ON!
The annual Cock O’ the North race meeting at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough will definitely take place on the 18th & 19th July.
Due to legal problems regarding road closures the meeting will be compacted into one days racing on Sunday 19th July with a 12 race programme. Practice starting at 9am and the first race at 12 noon.
On Saturday 18th there will be a riders presentation to the fans giving you all much more time to meet the riders and have a chat with them. In addition a paddock walk about which will be open to everyone who purchases Saturday tickets.
The great news is tickets for Saturday 18th July have been reduced from £20 to £10. For those people who have already purchased advanced tickets, they will be contacted directly. The paddock will be open from 11am and later in the afternoon the machines will be scrutineered.
The bikers village camp site will be open as normal from Friday with a late bar and disco. On Saturday there will also be a live band. The trade village will be open as normal on both days.
This new schedule has given the Auto 66 the opportunity to hold a marshals training day on Saturday 18th July starting at 9am. Anyone who is interested in marshalling and wants to take up marshalling can arrive at the main spectator gate, were you will be able to sign on with the chief marshal and get a pack with the days activates. New marshals and officials are always wanted and this is an ideal opportunity for you to get involved in the sport. Anyone not wanting to go on the track, there are still jobs available in the rally area and riders paddock. There is also the opportunity to be trained up to be a time keeper, sound tester and other roles. So come along on Saturday 18th July. Your help & support would be most welcome.
The meeting has attracted and excellent entry with current Gold Cup holder Ivan Lintin alongside Dean Harrison and Lee Johnson in the solo classes, with Conrad Harrison, Ian Bell, and making a welcome return, Greg Lambert in the sidecar class.
